Dave--Focus

great post

I've been trading for 20 years, full time for 6 or so
still have all the problems you listed in your comment

ny "focus" trades more than offset my "lack of focus losses" but, but but

not sure how we break those bad habits

Patience

How many times am I going to buy too high, or sell too low. Waiting with a PLAN would be the better
approach.

I am writing this because I am very pissed off at myself, I really think that I can do a good job of trading, I
really think I am learning (but too much the hard way), I really think I have good trading instincts, but don't
seem to have the confidence to follow my instincts. I feel particularly good that I have only lost on one short
position (I'm down on another), and it would have been a big winner for me had I held it. In this market,
one has to be able to trade on both sides.

I identify with you completely!
This is the crucial difference b/w so-so traders (like me and maybe you) and millionaire traders! Once we can master this, the money to be extracted from the market is unlimited!!

(NB:- I have read and re-read over 20 books on trading; yet I make the same mistakes in several variations again and again. The only good news is that I am beginning to see some progress in my brokerage account)

David, You're not alone I've been thinking about the same thing this weekend. I am too busy monitoring stocks looking for the best opportunity while My cash is just sitting there in My acct. Stocks I have watched and thought about buying before the close, have gapped up up the next day. I consider Myself lucky when I think about those who played options and margin, and are toast after this week. Good luck to You and all here next week, esp. LS for all His work and willingness to help less experienced traders than Himself.
