mphilli, Drove down to NY and back yesterday to check some of this out. Took 14 hours down and back cause of a driving rainstorm. My brain is too dead to get into that. I will say this. The cabal to offer cheap gold loan borrowings as a source of cheap capital to starved hedge funds, etc., might, and I say might, succeed short term in knocking down the price of gold, but it will eventually blow up and gold will explode at some point in the not too distant future which is the reason to "hold the fort". There are already signs of breaking ranks in the financial community. B. Stern did not go along with the LTCM bailout plan. Lehman is bolting with its money in Russia ( they roared out of that fort ). Other central banks might soon decided it is "every man for himself" and start calling in some gold loans. The Asia banks may know what is going on and start buying gold more aggressively. The yen move has put the price of gold to 1985 - 6 levels in yen. Demand in Japan is soaring. Premiums there are going thru the roof. Gold demand will pick up all over Asia. The role of the dollar as a reserve currency will diminish. Will they turn to the Euro. I think not. Read THC posting on Armstrong commentary. We may or may not have some short term trouble because of gold dumped into the market place by borrowers. Hard to tell about that. But just as the financial bubble in our stock market built and built, so is A GOLD SHORT BUBBLE.And that one is bubbleizing to big balloonish levels. Yout got to be in it to win it. Bill
