You don't think a Tucker was a good investment? Just go out and price a few, I think you will be MORE than shocked.

opalapril, I probably agree more with you than you might think. The consolidation of biotechs will hepl new buyers not most of those that hold them now.

I remember the Favorite Fifty theory which lasted longer than it was expected to. The dogs of the Dow strategy appears to have also suffered from over popularity. In fact one can say that the fact that small caps consistently outperformed large caps until about 97 (?) indicates nothing last forever.

Many have nothing but a negative attitude toward biotechs. They have few friends. Funding is a real problem. I do wonder if the U.S. is prepared to let this segment go under. While I obviously don't have the solution to regulatory reform I think some sort of reform could reduce the financial burden of discovery. This may or may not occur. Even without it I still think those biotechs that come up with new approvals for drugs that have potentially large markets will do well. I think there has been capitulation in this market segment. I don't know or can't even guess when a rebound will start.
