Well the symptoms of all hangs/lockouts look about the same so it is hard to say..All I know is after I uninstalled QPV all my hangs went away( the previous update..not the current)..I could be doing things far removed from QP..I had QPV out of my start menu so it was never activated, but according to Gary the driver was still loaded at boot, and would cause the problem..I don't think there was any need to uninstall a previous version before installing the latest..At this point to prove it is connected to your problems I would just uninstall QPV and see if the problem goes away..The QPV file is quite small anyway if you need to download it again..BTW there is no new QP2 update per Gary ( at least today).
Dick.

Hasn't been necessary to uninstall the old qp files for many builds, Ken.
Only reason to uninstall that I can imagine is if some of the older files are no longer used and hence don't get overwritten.

Can, if you want, e-mail me a specific scan that still bombs.

The 'new' 10/8 qp2.exe at the site was just a repost.
