Well there you go, jbe.... now you've opened the can of worms! Let me ask you this, say we agree that a 7 mos fetus COULD be life if you put that fetus on life support for 2 mos and allow it to develop normally outside the womb. (Im choosing 7 mos because I thought 7 mos was the earliest they could survive... well 6 or 7 mos I think we agree its around then). Then lets take this scenario, which my guess is pretty common. Say you have a 14 year old inner city girl that gets pregnant at school and doesnt tell anyone until she is in her 6th month, at which point she begins to show. Which is most humane at this point, abortion, forcing her to have the child (which probably means leaving school for her and remember she has no way to support this baby once it is born but may have too much of an emotional attachment to put it up for adoption). Please dont use the tired "if she cant accept responsibility for the baby she shouldnt have gotten herself in that situation" blurb, because we all know that our society does not prepare teenage girls for this situation. And remember if she does choose to keep this baby because she doesnt have the emotional maturity to give it up (likely) then there will potentially be TWO wasted lives where there could have been one, or none. So, which solution is most humane? BTW this is kind of a rhetorical question since I know no one knows the answer.
