Mohan, thanks for your response. You are correct in saying the figures that I analyzed were from the retail sector of Dell's market. I took the data from the monthly catalogs that I receive from Dell. The business sector would have different pricing.

However, what I found interesting was the fact that the sub $1000 pc's don't appear to be affecting Dell's pricing in any significant way. The sub $1000 pc's represent competition to Dell in the retail sector, not the business/enterprise sectors. (At least that's my understanding.)

I should note that Dell has reported some ASP erosion in the last few quarters of the financial reports.

Lets see if there are other comments forthcoming.
