Needless to say, I'm with you on this one, jbe. If you want, you can take up the subject of the "historical dodge" of discussing Bush and Iran/Contra with the all knowing one.

As far as off topic goes, one thing that's never off topic here is any old rumor, innuendo, or other charge that's been investigated with no wrongdoing found. Bill Clinton was addicted to crack! Bloodgate! Who killed Vince Foster?!?!!! The current line here seems to be that the House investigation is suddenly going to come up with new, impeachment-worthy evidence on all the old kitchen sink's worth of high crimes and misdemeanors, as in filegate, travelgate, Whitewater (remember that one?), Hillary's finances, who killed Vince Foster, and lord knows what else. I guess people don't think Ken Starr was any good after all, since the political overkill act with the lewd and lascivious report and the videotape backfired on him.

But, all will be quiet for the next month. When elections are coming up, you got to pay attention to the polls a little bit. And all the Republicans who followed strict party discipline in the House will profess their open-mindedness, they need to look carefully at the evidence, they must uphold their constitutional responsibility, and it's absolutely unknowable how they will end up voting on the matter. When they come back after the election, there'll be a string of party line votes, I'm sure.

Oops, over the top again. Jbe, I have to give you credit for retaining remarkable composure in the face of the odd cast of characters here. I wish I could do as well. Of course, now that I'm officially a blasphemor for calling Who,Me? mean, I guess I have more incentive to mend my ways, before I face stoning, or burning at the stake, or eternal damnation.

Cheers, Dan.
