"NOW, can we say "padres" ????"

Yes, we can. We can also say, "the Padres are going to the World Series. And the Braves choked."

Arnie

P.S. One of the Padres announcers, Ted Lightner, is also the Chargers radio play-by-play guy. After the Raiders game, he's chartered a plane to rush him back to San Diego's Chandler Field where he'll have a limo scoot him to the stadium, probably around the 4th inning. Now that's committment! After missing the pennant clinching and Astros clinching games because of football duties, he's determined not to miss tomorrow's game. Maybe he'll get lucky and see two San Diego teams win tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath. Tell your Raiders to be nice to the Chargers.
