There's Loew's and Loews. Confusing. This one beat last eps by 2%. result was in August. Only one analyst covers it this year and next Zacks has 8.7 and 10.1. Beta is around 0.5 and it trades at 85. about 60% of book. Either something is very wrong or this is the bargain of the century.

Tobacco, insurance, hotel conglomerates are probably out of fashion.

I first noticed them when Business Week ran a story on how they were betting against the market with their investments. Motley Fool ran an item a few days ago praising how they had won by putting on Disney.

I have my own statitsical indicator that helps predict up-coming moves but when a stock is flat it says little about the direction of that move. It's at it's lowest point since 4/97 on this one. Previous low point was at the peak for the stock. So this could signal the bottom. Or another crash...

Maybe I'll make a small long investment.
