I don't know if he's out of the market right now -- I don't have his position sheets any more than anyone else does!

He is saying: "TG says get out" on Thursday and "look, another short-covering rally" on Friday. Hmmm, one of those two observations was tradeable on Friday morning, but which one?! To me, this is an inherent feature of the market. The market has a whole lot of influences at any given moment, both positive and negative. So if he picks out several positives and several negatives, he still can't predict 100%, and it's dangerous for us to read too much into anything that looks like a prediction.

I like his recent column where he said "I'm bearish right now but here is a list of things that could set off a rally." Always consider the counter case.

But that's kind of a tangent. Yes, if he was mostly in cash and shorts at the time he published "TG says get out", then I think he was early. Better to be two days early than 1000 points too late though.

He has said that Cramer, Berkowitz keeps about half their portfolio in long-term holdings and they don't trade those positions. I wonder if that is still true.
