Doc, as my friend Kip said, the shorts are in control of this market. No real long volume was bought on TH/F it was short covering to a great extent.

In a certain way we are being victims of the greed/fear of our own colleagues who like to trade around their short positions.

We have not seen real fear yet but I can smell it is coming... regardless of what the fed does, the slope of the CAPM line has gotten really steep in the last two months. Investors are demanding a heck of a lot more return per unit of risk (i.e., per unit of variability as measured by the standard deviation). The y intercept, which represents the 3 mo. treasury bill provides a downward shift but this shift is BS compared to the increased slope.
