Gary, Thanks much for your response. I've been intimidated by the need to understand the logic flow of programming to try anything. I think if I peck at it, I'll find the groove (with a little help form my friends!). If someone was gunna try to learn this stuff from scratch, in your opinion, is there any kind of basic education I should get in Basic or whatever or just kick and scratch away using scans that are around as my tutor? Also I accidently put in the number of periods of a ROC as 180 once and returned the error of something like "invalid period". Are there limits to what you can use as parameters? Alan
