Why do you blithely ignore all the posts the give a far more detailed
amount of info on this matter, and just come out with blithe pronouncements--does it mean nothing to you that Dr.Rice set up the BioTech program at DeKalb----that the BioTech partnering with Mycogen
is exclusive---that their tight relationship with Noble to develop
more digestible alfalfa is a close relationship and a coordinated effort.Mr.Pink,I still advise caution on this one---I still believe
you should look deeper on this one. That's is my opinion---I realize
that Mr.Pink does not deal in opinions--but gives pronouncements
from Sinai:) so it is difficult to debate with you.Max90

But does it need the "expertise?" Isnt this what the partnering is for? I think what ABTX brings to the table is the seed library, an asset which cannot be built from outside. Unlike human genomic samples, which can easily be acquired by anyone interested in sequencing them and developing possible commercial applications from, seed genomics are not walking by the office each and every day.
With the majority of commercial crops grown from a limited number of strains, acquiring the genomic diversity needed for large scale sequencing is possible ONLY with access to a seed library. Apart from a few universities, the only sources for these are distributors.

How much biotech expertise did DeKalb and Pioneer have independent of their partnerships? It was my thought that Monsanto and DuPont did much of the sequencing and testing for them-I could be wrong.

Why then don't you just declare, pathetically and with loud drumroll, ABTX as a T3/F that should be shorted, with a target of zero? And don't forget about the Yahoo board. And let us see what the reaction is going to be.
