Michael, it's not wrong to lye. It's just wrong to lie.

Sorry, I couldn't resist that. A pedant to the end...<sigh>

Michael, good points all. You are to be commended for not pandering to name calling or lowering the standards of discussion.

We differ in our opinions somewhat, but not altogether. I respect the will of the people and the wisdom inherent in the continuity of the elective process, despite my own misgivings on occasion.

I don't like Clinton and feel strongly his actions cavalier and irresponsible, open to possible civil prosection, but not impeachable to anyone similarly holding that office. Yet he's also demonstrated an ability to express the needs and desires of the people in this country and in countries around the world to a high degree of affirmation. I'd be a poor critic to ignore the truths seen through a plurality of eyes.

I feel the office of the President is not in danger by Clinton's acts in the Starr report, but it could be significantly diminished through what and how we proceed against him. The collateral damage thus far is significant.

At this time, the machinery of impeachment is the greater of two evils in my opinion. The right and conservatives are destroying many of their own beliefs on privacy. An interesting article appears in today's New York Times magazine if you can find it.

Your analysis of Clinton's actions regarding Paula Jones are on the button. I'm sure we'll both be watching the proceedings and be open to insights and surprizes. This is only an intermission...
