Jon-This post from Gregg seems to indicate that Pantech does buy the ASICS from Qualcomm.

I wonder if Everen Securities is just saying that the revenue from Pantech purchases of QCOM ASICS (for Motorola) are about to kick in.

Before I even saw the answer to your question (in post #16292), my "off the top of my head" comment is - I think it is real difficult to produce a 4th or 5th generation "MSM" ASIC chip.

So, it is unlikely some company in Korea that is not instantaneously recognizable (to me, anyway) is out there successfully "cranking out" chips to compete with (and displace) those from Qualcomm.

Jon.

Tom, Pantech is making phones for Motorola (and also Lucky Goldstar, I believe) using Qualcomm chips. They don't make chips.

PS Qualcomm Park was just mentioned on our *local* news. Who would of thunk it!

Maurice baseball is much better than football. They play many more games and have many more fan panning opportunities per game. Maybe someone down their can get the Qualcomm PR folks producing Q Foam's to give to the crazy fans. The best foam givaways we had were La Bats provided by our famous beer company named Labatts.
