Ah, thanks for that round of confidence in the media sector. I'm playing this for the short term.

Most of StorMedia's business was with Samsung and Samsung will be joining the 4.3 GB/platter club very soon. HMT has demonstrated product there (second source to Maxtor on the 4320 Series). And then they run a tight ship consistently finding ways to still make money, although barely last quarter .

But then after analyzing facts - I decided on emotion! You see, I like the nice clock I received from them at their new Fremont plant grand opening last year. What can I say? It's taken over a year but their payola finally won me over.

Yes, the Sony OEM price is still high - much higher than Imation's SuperDisk. I've heard numbers from $129 to $149 at OEM but the sources are not the best. What have you heard?

Speaking of the floppy compatible segment, what have you heard about Caleb? They too were to have good access times in the 144MB mode but news from them has dried up.
