This is what Speros write on December 1997.
So now what is the excuse!!!!!

"
MIQ/Kinross - The company advises that principals of Kinross Gold Corp.
U.S.A. will be in Montreal next Wednesday and Thursday to finalize
documentation with respect to the latest deal. At that time, both
companies will discuss exact plans with respect to drilling in 1998. It is
also expected the Kinross geological team will be joing the MIQ geological
team in Nevada immediately after the new year, at which time they will
further discuss strategy and targets.

Control - Mr. Speros advised that MIQ has retained 100% complete control
over the drilling program for the next 4 years but expects the MIQ
geological team to work side by side with the much experienced and
respected Kinross team. Mr. Speros advises that one of the expediting
factors of this deal was that geologists from both sides are well known to
each other, share similar philosophies and were in agreement with MIQ's
drill strategy to date and in the future.
