Ok, lets break up the monotony...

Yesterday, while at my kids' school 'harvest festival', my eye caught the back of a guy's shirt touting fibre channel. So of course, I tap him on the shoulder and introduce myself as an investor in a 'fibre channel' company. The guy works for MTI (symbol MTIC) and I ask him if he's getting busy... yada, yada, yada...

He says that in his view, scsi will no longer exist in a year, and that fibre channel is taking over everything. Starts speaking some foreign technical stuff, (ala Dawson, Moy, Stevenson, Technicrat), so I tuned out and waited for him to catch his breath. (btw, I only tuned out cause I don't speak that language).

When he inhaled, I asked him whether he has heard of our favorite company, he said yes, but he also said they were using Brocade switches.

Upshot of whole conversation was was FC is exploding ... especially in the SAN which his company specializes. Anyone hear of MTIC ?

Greg,

<<For some reason, I'm guessing they would have come out all right.>>

I have no doubt about that. I was more curious how WE would have fared in that situation. Would the Reg D guys have used the opportunity to short at higher prices, and then try to force the price down? Maybe they wouldn't have had enough firepower to do that if there were enough buyers. I don't know the answer, but it sure would be interesting to know their game plan.

<<However part of me thinks about Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and that there is still a big ambush waiting for us.>>

Now you are getting paranoid, although a healthy dose of paranoia is probably a good thing considering where we have been. <g>
