Please help my understanding. If CIEN is 2 years ahead on technology why did ATT buy from Lucent. Please don't mention past relationships. I don't believe it. I would think they must have offered some cost/benefit advantage -- maybe a product not quite as good for a much better price? Note Yahoo post 15321 which claims product caught on fire in AT&T testing. I usually discount these things out of hand as most likely originated by a short seller, but if true it certainly would be a serious issue.
