Hello LT, it all makes perfect sense when you think about it. There are 10 good reasons for reducing the number of shares on issue. Some people think the stock has dropped a LOT! Why are you worried about a reverse split?

Happy investing,
Maurice

re: getting more people to buy shares berblady

I posted an email from Greg Facktor on Sept. 24 (post #12546) which was in response to a telephone conference call. He addressed the issue of their attempts to get various entities to invest in TCLN. I am reprinting the relevant paragraph from the email below. It states what has already been said about needing to get the share price up, but also answers the question about what brokers can and cannot do under our present circumstances.

"As you might know, we have begun to turn our focus to widening our audience in the financial community. Meetings with new retail, institutions, investment banking and analysts will increasingly become part of our daily tasks. Knowing though that many are restricted from buying stocks under $5, we have to be realistic about the fact that brokers they cannot probably solicit their client base to buy Techniclone, and analysts or investment bankers may not be able to consider sponsorship. It does give us the ability, however, to begin to set the stage, however, with the goal of rebuilding the retail network, one broker and one office at a time. Thus, even if they can only buy our shares for their personal or directed accounts for now, as well as to possibly secure sponsorship if we are able to show sustainable bid prices in the $2.50 -$2.00 level, we ought to be about the task of reintroducing TCLN to these constitutents. Especially if we believe we have the impetus (the developing news) over the next six to twelve months to suggest a higher valuation."

Just to remind people of an option to achieve a popular price. It is only the belief that a reverse split is a bad things which makes it so. If the belief is that a reverse split is a good thing for TCLN, then that will be so. For example, if everyone thought "Hey, once it is hovering around $5, people will take it more seriously, which will increase liquidity, demand for the stock and the stock price. The company seems to be pretty sound, margin calls are behind us [again]. Clinical progress is good, with front line TNT treatment gaining ground, which is recognition of serious benefits to glioma patients", then a reverse split would be a good event, not a bad one. Plus all the other good reasons for fewer shares outstanding and a higher stock price.
