Hi Joe, I appreciate your curiosity even as an atheist as it indicates you're still searching for wisdom. Regarding apparitions of Mary and her communicating with people and what the bible has to say about such matters.... (if need be I will provide chapter and verse that backs up each statement here as the following is not just my opinion but is biblically based) 1) Mary was just as sinful as you or I and was not born sinless 2) People seeking after a sign from God now are considered a wicked and evil generation 3) Mary has no job now it is Jesus that intercedes on our behalf and the Holy Spirit calls us to Him not her 4)In every instance that Jesus spoke to Mary He called her "woman" and never venerated her and basically ignored her perhaps because He knew what people would try to portray her as in the future 5) The dead do not contact the living (the prophet Samuels appearance to Saul in the old testament is believed to have been demonic and was brought about by the witch of Endor) 6) If the above are all true then the apparitions including Fatima are demonic because the bible says that even Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light. I realize what is said here will be offensive to some but it cannot be helped and I can't apologize for the truth of God's word. God bless you Joe with wisdom and His mercy, John
