MILPITAS, Calif. (Dow Jones)--Creative Technology Ltd. ( CREAF ) said its PC-DVD Encore Dxr2 will be available as an upgrade option in Compaq Computer Corp.'s (CPQ) Deskpro EP and EN line of commercial desktop personal computers.

In a press release Monday, Creative Technology said the technology provides customers with a hardware and software solution to use the power of digital video disc, or DVD, technology on their existing personal computers.

Singapore-based Creative Technology develops, makes and markets multimedia technology.
