Netrix to Provide High Capacity Solution to Motorola

HERNDON, Va., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- NETRIX Corporation (Nasdaq: NTRX),
worldwide supplier of voice and data networking products, and Motorola's
Internet and Networking Group (ING) have entered into a long term joint
partnership and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreement for the
development and distribution of NETRIX's Network Exchange series multi-service
switching platforms.
Under the terms of the OEM agreement, Motorola will market the Network
Exchange as a high speed networking solution for enterprise headquarters and
other applications requiring high performance solutions. The agreement could
result in additional revenues for NETRIX exceeding $10 million in the first
year.
The developments slated for the Network Exchange include adding voice
switching protocols, IP router interface functionality, and high-density
packet voice termination. Motorola's research and development investment
already totals over $500,000. The resulting products will enable Motorola to
support large enterprise networks consisting of thousands of sites, rather
than the hundreds of sites it can currently support. The new products, which
will have worldwide availability, will are scheduled to be announced in the
fourth quarter of 1998.
Randy Battat, senior vice president and general manager of ING, said, "We
are impressed with NETRIX's enterprise backbone capabilities and strengths in
integrated voice/data networking. The technology from this partnership
complements our portfolio of Vanguard(R) router access products. Our
partnership with NETRIX will allow us to add high speed networking quickly
while continuing to invest strongly in new technologies to address emerging
markets."
Lynn Chapman, NETRIX President and CEO, said, "In advance of this

Digital River Teams With Lotus and
IBM Software to Become the First
Electronic Software Distributor in
Europe

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 13, 1998--Digital River (NASDAQ: DRIV - news), which manages the world's largest online database of software products, today announced a European distribution agreement with Lotus Development Corp. and International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) (NYSE: IBM - news). Through Digital River's online dealer network, Lotus and IBM software will be available via electronic distribution, thereby making Digital River the first distributor of targeted electronic software delivery (ESD) in Europe.

In 1997, Digital River began distributing Lotus and IBM software through its online dealer network in the United States. With this expansion into Europe, distribution efforts will be managed from Digital River's European headquarters in London, which was recently opened in response to the heightened interest throughout Europe to purchase, sell and electronically distribute software over the Internet.

Some of the software applications that will be made available for electronic distribution include Vtconn for Netscape, VisualAge Developer Domain, VisualAge Java, Home Page Print, and Desktop On-Call. In addition, a large subset of Lotus SKUs will be available through ESD, including Lotus Notes(a), Notes Client(a), Lotus 1-2-3 Spreadsheet(a), Organizer(a), EasySync for Notes(a), eSuite Developer Pack(a), and ScreenCam(a).
