XAU reached day low at 71.41 at 10:45 and has rebounded sharply. HM was first stock to recover.

General obseveration that Asia gold has been constantly up
followed by drops in Europe & US.

The Euro- may have to put a little gold in those coins for them to have a little value IMO.

Russia- may be the first country to be forced back to the gold standard.

Gold diviner accepts $100,000 challenge
Monday 12 October, 1998 (12:27pm AEST)

A farmer from Dunolly in central Victoria who claims to be a gold diviner has taken up a $100,000 challenge to test his skills.

Henry Doren will be tested by the Australian Sceptics in late November.

The vice president of the sceptics' Victorian branch, Bob Nixon, says the test will be carried out under tight controls on Mr Doren's property.

"There'll be six potential locations covered by straw or carpet or whatever and we'll ask him locate under which of the covers the gold is to be found," he said.

"We'll get him to do that six or eight times, however many times we deem is necessary."
