Jim and Joey, I would hope that AMD considers long and hard before deciding to move from 3DNow to KNI. I find it difficult to believe that Intel will blow AMD's 3DNow success out of the water with KNI in the near-term. Some of the questions that I have are?

1) Which CPU is gaining market share with the masses more rapidly - K6-2 or Pentium II (soon to be Katmai)?

2) Which 3D CPUs are most likely to remain the most affordable to the masses (cost) K6-2, K6-3, Katmai?

3) What is Intel's plan to include KNI instructions in their chips for the masses if ever? (Celeron Slot 1 or 370 pin)

4) When does Intel plan to include KNI instructions in their mobile processor products?

5) Who will reap the most benefits from 3D technology, the home consumer or the corporate consumer?

6) Do you think the software writers might be asking the same above questions and more, regardless of the advance assistance that Intel might be providing them?

I don't think AMD will be so quick to to concede defeat of 3DNow by KNI, nor do I think the software writers will.
