Dell Agreement Installs OnNet Host Suite on NT/TSE-Equipped PowerEdge Servers Company-Wide Terminal Server Solution Bundled on Dell PowerEdge Servers With Terminal Server Edition of Windows NT CUPERTINO, Calif., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- NetManage, Inc. (Nasdaq: NETM), today announced an agreement with Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL) to factory-install OnNet(R) Host Suite on those Dell PowerEdge(R) servers equipped with Microsoft Windows NT Server, Terminal Server Edition (NTS/TSE). OnNet Host Suite, a product of NetManage's FTP Software division, links the Dell PowerEdge server to critical information stored on hosts such as UNIX(R), IBM(R), AS/400(R), and mainframe computers. It is the only connectivity software Dell bundles with NTS/TSE through its DellWare program and worldwide sales organization. Dell will also sell additional OnNet Host Suite software license packs to its customers. NTS/TSE connects PCs and Windows-based terminals to run applications from a central server. Adding OnNet Host Suite extends those capabilities to Dell servers networked to UNIX, AS/400, and mainframe computers. Combining these two software products provide a complete terminal server solution for the PowerEdge server. "Working with the world's largest direct PC systems company is a privilege," said Peter Simkin, NetManage's senior marketing vice president. "When Dell selects our product to include on their corporate servers, they tell corporate IT managers everywhere that OnNet Host Suite meets Dell's stringent requirements. Dell, in turn, delivers OnNet Host Suite software directly to those corporate customers who need access to their mission-critical hosts." OnNet Host Suite provides managed, full-featured host access including TN3270, TN5250, and VT terminal emulation, plus an integrated File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client, network diagnostic tools, and file conversion utilities. OnNet Host Suite also includes the next generation of InterDrive(R) Network File Server (NFS) v3 file and print sharing and a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server.
