Another news story about the M-II based Compaq "Internet" PC:

One thing I noticed:

priced at $799. A $100 rebate is available, Compaq said.

Don't you have to pay sales tax on full amount, including $100, and then receive the rebate? In NYC, you would be paying extra $8.25 in sales taxes.

It may not be good enough to succeed in the market along side of the K7. We will just have to wait and see. The real hope lies in their integrated processors.
