I am having a hard time figuring out the excitement CSCO bulls are getting when the market that is supposed to be hot in growth for the next 3-5 years is exactly the market Cisco is having a hard time getting cutting edge products out into within a meaningful time frame when major buying decisions are being made. Along with the fact that they are finding it really tough to forge good partnerships with major players in that arena does one think that they stand a good chance against the likes of Lucent/Ascend ? I keep on going back to the Ascend shareholder meeting and the surprising conviction with which Mory said that Cisco was not a major player in the WAN equipment area besides selling routers. He stressed that their focus is Enterprise and from what has been happening recently it looks thats what it will remain to be, despite Wall Streets hopes and dreams in order to continue their growth rate (which has declined terribly). -hitesh
