AZW1's latest puke!

<<Let's say you listen to Alan Greenspan when he says the economy is still strong and there is no reason to worry. Then you speak to a hundred different companies and they all disagree. Let's say you see really good managers getting blown out of the water, and you know that they are well-trained and intelligent. Let's say you are on a Yahoo! (Nasdaq:YHOO - news) call that is fantastic, and the stock craters the next day, as if the call were terrible. Or let's say you were betting on Advanced Micro (NYSE:AMD - news) doing an upside surprise, and it does one and you get crushed! (Don't worry, I wasn't, but many were.)

You could: A. say, so what, things are great long-term, so why bother to even make the calls or do the work? Just forget about it. B. lie to your readers and say, this market is ready to rocket and I am betting that way -- even though that would be a total fiction. C. say nothing at all, even if you believe in something, for fear that someone will criticize you if you are wrong. Or D. say how you feel and what you see and hope that it helps people.

I always choose D. Always. That's what this column is about....>>

<<In the end I am human. I can be wrong. But I cannot lie. I cannot tell you I see one thing -- a rosy, terrific market -- and on the other hand have the giant cash position I have. I, in the end, can only be honest. If I start lying or start telling you I see things that I don't, I am not worth the ink you used to print this out. If I am confused, I tell you that. To pretend I have it figured out when I don't is to do what I see hundreds of people do every day of my life.

I cannot be one of them.>>
