>>One thing I just cannot understand is how SO many people from all walks of life can be calling this a very SOLID BOTTOM when at the same time we are STILL at record euphoric valuations?????? I cannot figure this out??!! <<

I agree- It will take a plunge much lower than this for me to feel stocks are undervalued esp. with such uncertainty for 1999.
I always thought the magic number was pe of around 25-30 ? How many blue chip stocks are REAL bargains and how many are PERCEIEVED bargains from simply using this summers hyper inflated prices ?

BINGO !!!!...

I agree, it is truly amazing. I think it boils back to the changes that the world has been going through over the past ten years or so. We now live in a society of instant gratification, and lower moral standards. Patience is no longer an option.

I believe this has resulted in a more Passive enviorment/society in both North America and abroad in regards to investing. Joe says its a good company so what the heck, IM IN !!!

People are living for the moment without regard to the future although they will trade on the " future" as it serves their needs for " Instant gratification.

They have been told they need to average over time in order to become wealthy at retirement age, problem is most of these people never ask the most important question of all.

" WHY am i buying stock in this company" ? The question can only be answered on a company's " current " fundamentals.

They just keep coming no matter how bad the world problems are, i think they just hope they will go away like they have been told that they will.

It's kinda like owning a traffic ticket as a kid that needs to be paid, however you don't have the money, so you just keep driving around hoping one of two things happens, 1) You don't get caught 2 ) Someday you will find the money to pay for it.

I don't think the majority of the retail investment community realizes that when analyist lower expectations and companies beat those estimates it isn't really as great as it is made out to be.

I am just rambling without giving this much thought, although this is my first impression.

Investor's need Growth and i see nothing but SLOWING Growth.

Go figure !!
