John --- The days of Y2K stocks rising on fear are over.
>>

I know that is the majority opinion right now. I stated that it 'might' rise on fear, nothing in certain in life.

Hard facts supporting either view is missing IMO. Let's see and wait what will happen the coming 6 months.

One fact IS certain: common opinion among the investment community is that Y2k effects will not be a big deal; and thus they infer that almost all fixing will be done end of 2000; perhaps 2001. THAT opinion WILL change the coming 6-9 months.

It may well lead to another appreciation of the life cycle of Y2k remediation companies; and therefore to a different valuation.

(no need to reply; these are no hard facts; just opinions ;-))
