Applied Materials To Acquire Consilium in Stock Swap
Does anyone know exactly how this is going to affect AMAT, and is it a
possitive? AMAT is trading up at 27 in after hours trading.

Based on the after-hours price of AMAT($27), it seems they're paying a price of ~$4.91 a share, a premium approximately 170% from CSIM's closing price...someone please tell me if my math is off. Anyway you slice it, it's a pretty premium for the holders of CSIM considering present market conditions. The acquisition itself is a tacit statement by AMAT that the prices in the sector are ridiculously low.
