I think that they are heading in slightly the wrong direction, but
I'm also just guessing about a lot of things, including their
strategy.

As to their success, I think that they do a lot of things so well
that even if their strategy was terrible it would be "successful"
for quite some time -- like IBM in the good old days. Which they
remind me of a bit lately...

Maybe MSFT will surprise me, but I think that they are starting to
act too committed to their monolithic approach, and when that happens
it seems that the shareholders end up suffering to make life easier
for the people running the company. That said, I think that MSFT
still makes more money as one company than they would as many.
