I get 48000 99% of the time using a Zoom 2919. Others have complained of problems with this modem. The quality of your telephone line, to the local trunk and in some cases your house wiring can be a factor.

>>I have never know anyone to get over 41KB using a 56KB modem. It's nice to hear that some are, but I don't know anyone. Are you using one. My lines won't support it, so I went with ISDN.<<

I use my T1 line at work. But I post on the COMS thread
a lot and there has been extensive discussion on 56K modems.

If you have a technical question, Dick Smith would be
happy to answer you. He's more technically knowledgeable
about the x2 56K modems.

Also, if you go to the 3Com web page, there's a phone #
there which you can call and test your modem. I think it
might be mentioned in the FAQ page.

Steve:
I get 49333 bps or more using US Robotics x2 v90. Be sure your ISP supports the x2 technology.
