Is the problem just related to the initial load of NT? Can I install NT on an IDE drive and then clone it to the SCSI drive?

No, I would just call adaptec. I'm sure they will solve the problem promptly.

If my test properly addresses your question the answer is yes I can access the harddrives without using a DOS driver.

Yes I believe your results and say you can access your hard drive using the BIOS built into your AHA 2940 U2W. However, I am mystified as to why NT can't use the BIOS to access your hard drive.

I can not answer these questions.
