Nope...my buying power has been adjusting just fine with RealTick... Keep in mind that if you are holding stocks overnight your buying power is going to be calculated differently the next day due to Federal Maintenance Requirements... Perhaps that is where you are having your problems.... Are you holding stocks overnight?

I've had the same problems, I believe. I'll verify tomorrow. I've had one other weird problem on two occasions in the past. I placed a short order and cancelled it several times. Next thing I know my remaining excess equity had increased 600%. How's that for making a profit without ever making a trade. Of course once I closed RT3 and restarted it, everything was fine.

I have version 5.2.18.0.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

It doesn't sound like a problem to me. For the example you gave you can margin the stock you just bought and have $5000 of buying power. But I say you can't use the margin power in the stock until it is in your possession. By possession I mean you receive order confirmation. Where as you imply you want to margin the stock before it is in your possession.

Well Jim, I don't have that problem. I have just experienced the problem with selling short and canceling a couple of times and that's it.

It works according to the margin rules. The only thing I don't like is when selling a security, my remain excess equity is reduced by the transaction amount. This I don't understand why. Any explanations for this out there?

Thanks.
