Yarnad,
On the world news program tonight, they showed a town on a northern island of Japan. The bank had failed due to making bad loans. The town was in terrible economic condition. Buildings partly completed, hotels empty, small businesses closed and others in trouble. The Japanese newspaper reporter helping on the story lost his job because the newspaper closed while they were there. I hope the Japanese government bails the banks out to save the people. I hope the banks reform their lending policies. The story really gave you a down to earth flavor of what is happening to the economy.
