Associates First Capital Corp. (AFS): The largest independent U.S. finance company's expected to report that third- quarter earnings rose to 91 cents a diluted share from 78 cents a year earlier according to analysts surveyed by First Call. Associates, which was spun off by Ford Motor Co. (F) earlier this year, will report results tomorrow at 8 a.m. New York time. Associates First rose 1 15/16 to 57 1/4.
