I think you covered the essentials. Your first post indicated much less culpability. I personally feel he is guilty of many other corrupt activities.

Again, you make legitimate points when you talk of political corruption in the course of our history. And you may be right when you say that many people are jaded about our politicians. But that is part of the problem.

I believe that individuals as well as a population of people tend to get what they expect. Extreme cynicism is much more dangerous than naivete because it saps you of the will to make changes.

There certainly can be a healthy cynicism, but that should never inhibit the application of principle.

Thanks for your thoughtful response.

Borzou...
Ok, so you can only see and accept the very worst in human nature, expect it of everyone and accept it from everyone.

Consequently, this acceptance and low expectation linked with "it doesn't matter" will allow this country drift ever lower in all the basic values of life.

Frankly, I think your dark cynicism is alot of bunk. I agree there is a distrust of politicians, however, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't always be seeking and forever desiring to elect people with high moral and ethical values. Human nature is such that we always want to to respect our elected leaders. But when they can't live up to our trust then they must be removed.

I'll gladly offer a trade off as follows, name any Republican or Congressman whom you think has a "proven" list of abuses as Clinton. Then let's take'em out together!! Gingrich, whom I'm sure you'll think of right away is expendable. Pick'em, but let's take out "The Coward" sitting in the White House.
