Hi guys-I haven't been here in quite awhile. I wanted to know if you any opinions about MRVC: its products etc. MRVC is selling for about 1X sales and has lots of cash and working capital. Is it a competitor of Anchor?

Kerry,

<<Who/what/why buy this product ( 3 ports) at this price :>>

I never did understand who would buy it, especially considering the price. I suppose if a company was already using Gadzoox hubs, and wanted to gain some performance and scalability using Gadzoox equipment, they might choose this route.

Kerry,

End users would buy this 3-port switch from Gadzooz to bridge FC_ALs together. Its upper limit is 3 loops with number of devices 3x126=378 per switch. It can be cascaded together to have up to 32,000 nodes theoretically . It didn't say, however, if it can handle both private and public loops. Its price was outrageous back in 1st Q of 1998, $12,250 per switch, $4,083 per port. Has their price come down lately? Ancor's MKII-8 ports would blow them away with features and price point.
