Thank you very much for a very good illustration. Somehow, I knew you would make it a good one, and you did. I'm sure a lot of traders learned more from your response than from their pretty Fidelity brochures. Printing this one for my notebook. Thanks a lot!

The way it was explained to me is that after next day after holding the $100K of stock with $50K equity, you will have $50K for day trading only. You must be flat at the end of the day maintaining 50% equity. Otherwise, you would invoke a margin call.

This was for any broker that clears through Southwest Securities, i.e. MB Trading, The Executioner, etc.
