<<I could care less about technical indicators. As for fundamentals, let's wait for the third quarter earnings report.>>

But that's the rear view mirror. It really won't matter if GTW has blowout earnings or not, it will be past tense.

Kory, if you are so sure of the fundamentals then why are you bothering with the earnings report? You have to consider the outlook 9 months ahead and nothing about that will be there . At that time gateway management will have assessed their venture into the "showroom" approach and likely taking restructuring charges to cut losses. Who knows what level the PC business will be, overall machines have been flat since about two years: Dell's rise is counter to trend.
Gateway price strength is heavily related to its linkage in the s&P500 and in only a small measure is due to its successful maintenance of earnings. Ignore the company and focus on the s&p. Gateway fluctuations are 2x as wide as s&p, generally. S&P is dominated by the (fill in your desired number) largest 2-4 companies: MSFT, GE, xxx etc. Only on occasion does gateway trade on its own prospects.

For a long-term big company that isn't expected to go anywhere soon but in long run will win the race, I'd go with GE myself.
