USA Global Link Consolidates Network Development and Operations in Denver

October 19, 1998 DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE) via NewsEdge
Corporation -- Company to Commission its
First Siemens International Switch

USA Global Link, Inc. (www.usagl.com), a
leading pioneer in the provision of discount
international telecommunications and
Web-based, e-commerce services, is pleased
to announce that it is consolidating all
network development and operations at its
Denver, Colorado site. Network personnel still
based in Fairfield, Iowa, the company's
headquarters, will be transferred over the
coming few weeks. This consolidation and
strengthening of the Denver Network
Operations Center (NOC), which also serves
as headquarters for Product Management
and Marketing, comes on the heels of the
establishment of major technology
partnerships with 3Com Corporation and
Siemens Information and Communication
Networks, Inc. over the last several months.

Concurrently, the company is very proud to
announce the commissioning of its first
Siemens international gateway switch in
Denver this week. The Network Operations
group in Denver bears primary responsibility
for the deployment of the company's Global
InterNetwork(SM), the world's first, truly
global IP (Internet protocol)-based
telecommunications network.

USA Global Link has begun deploying the
Global InterNetwork's IP-based infrastructure
in 18 countries and developing a
comprehensive marketing and organizational
structure to support service offerings in 28
target countries worldwide. The Global
InterNetwork infrastructure will be comprised
of international switching centers located in
New York, London, Tokyo and Seattle
connected by high-speed fiber-optic facilities
to create an IP-over-ATM (asynchronous
transfer mode) backbone. This will provide
worldwide transport of traditional narrowband
voice and advanced broadband
communications services, including
Web-based e-commerce solutions. The
Denver facilities will serve as the NOC for the
entire Global InterNetwork system, with
additional NOCs to be developed in London
and Tokyo.

"These developments in the creation of USA
Global Link's advanced international network
are cause for celebration," says Mark Baker,
CEO/President, speaking from his office in
Denver. "Pulling the network team together in
Denver with Product Management and
Marketing will create that critical mass of
focus and creativity essential to the
accelerating pace of our network deployment
and implementation of the company's global
business strategy."
