ST. LOUIS, Oct 13 (Reuters) - Life sciences firm Monsanto Co. (NYSE:MTC - news) said Tuesday its merger agreement with pharmaceutical and consumer products company American Home Products Corp. (NYSE:AHP - news) was terminated by mutual consent.

The pact, which was valued at nearly $34 billion when it was announced on June 1, was not in the best interests of shareholders of both companies, Monsanto said in a statement.<<

This is definitely not bullish.
