"I don't believe, if I understand the definition of ‘grub', that I can say, truthfully, that I grubbed the post." "Well, it wasn't there earlier, and you were obviously on-line, and no other sender's name appears on it. How can you explain the grub?" "Well, as I've said before, I have no recollection of grubbing the post. While it is true that I did post this morning, I did not grub it." "But the Site Admin, Bob, has told me he saw you getting ready to grub the post, saw a packet from you go by, saw you read the post, and then edit it. So again I'll ask you, yes or no, did you or did you not grub the post?" "Oh, you mean you think you have evidence to prove I grubbed it. Well, you see, I understood you to mean did ‘I' grub the post. I stand by my earlier statement, that I did not grub the post." "Are you trying to tell me you didn't submit that post?" "Well, you see sir, I was trying to insert a message into the message database. I mishandled the navigation buttons in the browser, and it resulted in direct contact with the submit button, though that was clearly not my intent." "So you are then saying that you did hit the submit button?" "No sir, that's not my statement. I'll refer you back to my original statement that I did not grub the post." "But the submit button did get clicked, and the post did get grubbed as a result of this contact?" "Well, yes, I suppose you could look at it that way." "So you lied to me when you said you did not grub the post?" "No. No, that's not correct. Your question was ‘Did I grub the post?'. From a strict legal definition, as I understood the meaning of that sentence, I did not grub the post... the submit button did... I was merely present when the submit occurred. So my answer of ‘No' when you asked ‘Did I grub the post' was legally correct, although I did not volunteer information." FURTHER AFFIANT SAYETH NOT.
