Jim,

We should hear something more official this week about the timing of MXi. I think the article was from Wall Street Journal. I don't think they know anymore than CMP, ZD, IDG, CNET etc. and they don't know.

Jim,

If the MXi is delayed to March or April, Cyrix will lose any credibility that they still may have (not to mention investors). When Cyrix announced the MXi at last year's MPF, they said it would be out in 2H, '98. Then it moved to Q4, '98. Then it changed to samples in December with full production in Q1, 98. Now it is edging into Q2. I know that this chip is not vaporware, but an outside observer might think that it is.

Much of the delay is probably due to the decision to release it at 0.18u, but that doesn't help my portfolio.

Pravin.

McMannis - Re: "March or April for the MXi...say it isn't so, Joe.."

That should be plenty of time for the 1999 Back-To-School <$499 low cost PC blow out sales.
