Here's a post from Yahoo that you can use to start the discussion on light valve technology:

<<In "Smart switchable glazing for solar energy and daylight control" given at a 1996 conference and printed in Solar Energy Materials & Solar Cells 52(1998) pages 207-221, Carl Lampert recognized the front runner status of electrochromic but also stated "---The development in dispersed particle devices is moving forward with a number of commercial activities and demonstrationwindows.---With further improvements inprocessing and the development of a sheet form of this material, these devices could see widespread use.---)page 219.
It would not be one bit surprising if much of the government laboratory attention will move to SPDs once MSC has made film available for testing for the simple reason that electrochromic has very severe limitations which may well preclude its meaningful use in exterior glazing. >>

Note the Lampert material quoted was published in 1996. You should call Dr. Lampert to get his latest 1998 update on the advent of SPD.

<<Make sure you contact Dr. Lampert, Joe Harary or Robert Saxe since they are the only ones that can give you accurate information on SPD and its competition.>>

And I guess if I wanted information about a Ford product you would tell me to call GM? No Dixon, they are not the only ones who can give information about the competition. They are just the only ones you belive.
