You are right Kelly. I have sent an email to the author of this article explaining to him about what you just pointed out. I asked that if he does plan on writing this article regarding NT5 and Active Directory that he first do some detailed research so that this fundamental difference between NDS and Active Directory be pointed out to his readers.

Too many IT professionals have been confused into thinking that Active Directory is a fundamental departure from Domains to federated object-oriented directory services. This is in fact not true. Active Directory implementers will soon come to the realization that Active Directory is not much more efficient that the older Domain structure.

I believe the best thing to happen is for NT 5.0, with AD, etc. to be released. Then, and only then, will users be able to experience exactly what they've been loyally waiting for. Put it to work in the enterprise, CIO's.......
