FWIW, this is from the Mother Jones section on the largest political contributors to both major parties. (Bass was number #267, I think). <Billionaire Sid Richardson Bass is the eldest of Fort Worth's legendary Bass brothers. The Basses own as much as 15 percent of the newly merged Disney/Capital Cities/ABC. Many of Bass' political contributions seemed intended to facilitate the $19 billion merger, which hinged on the passage of the GOP-sponsored telecommunications bill and the removal of FCC limitations on both the ownership and the distribution of programming by the networks.>
