To All:

Somehow I think this is related to Alcatel's decision to go with Objectstore (my prior post). Sending a lot of data over hi-speed lines using objects appears to be a strategic direction. Downstream this has to be good for ODIS.

Yes, another good win.

Alcatel operates in Sydney and they are always advertising for C++ developers. I thought they would be a good fit for Object Design. The release says nothing about the number of licenses or dollars: my suspicion is that liek a lot of these telco projects, this one might develop into a "river of gold" where the money keeps pouring in as the application deploys in more and more places.

With the major Australian telco (Telstra), British Telecom, and now Alcatel, ObjectStore is becoming very established in the telco market. This could mean lots of dollars over the next couple of decades.

Bob, an update on an answer I gave you last week.

I said that I didn't think finance companies would slow their purchasing due to the current market weakness. Wrong! I just heard today that one of the "big names" in worldwide stockbroking and investment banking have frozen all non-essential IT spending until the end of this year. So they're probably not the only ones.

However, the selling cycle is still a long one, so to the extent that expenditure is slowed now, it's just a matter of when rather than if a company adopts ObjectStore. The companies who will adopt ObjectStore will do so eventually.

I think it will be a good achievement by ODIS management if they can post 40% yoy revenue growth in the next few quarters.
